About Me

I was born in Lethbridge, AB and lived there right up until the summer of 2011, when I moved to Turner Valley to start my career as a grade five teacher :) I am now going into my tenth year working at this amazing school, and am so happy to be back once again!

I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children. My son Kalvin is 11 years old and my daughter Arya is 6 and a half. I have a large extended family who I am also very close with. Unfortunately, mom passed away from cancer a few years ago, which was a very difficult time for me.

I graduated from a small town called Coalhurst; my graduating class

was only nineteen people. I lived on an acreage and had some

horses, cows, chickens, pigs, goats and of course lots of cats and

dogs. One day, I would really like to live on an acreage again and

have many animals.

I graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2011 with my teaching

degree. I majored in English/Language Arts (my favorite core subject)

and minored in Drama (my favorite extra-curricular subject). Before

returning to University, I went to school for, and worked as a Special

Needs Educational Assistant at a wonderful school called Coalhurst

Elementary. I worked at this school for two and a half years, and it was

here that I discovered my passion for helping students discover

their potential and reach their dreams and goals. I also discovered my

love of working with students with exceptionalities and continued to

pursue this as I attended University. Because of these experiences, I

also worked as the Learning Coach here at TVS for four years.

When I am not at work, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. I also really love to travel and spend as much time outdoors as possible. I like experiencing new cultures, trying new things and meeting all kinds of interesting people. Even though it can be scary, it also allows me to grow as an individual and discover new strengths and interests. I have traveled all across Canada, as well as some parts of the U.S., Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Japan, Costa Rica and much of Europe. I would really like to visit India and Africa one day! I also love drama, music, dancing, reading, writing and camping:)
